What storage do we provide for COVID-19 waste?

Here at Circle Waste we can provide different options to help you manage your COVID-19 rapid lateral testing waste. Each measurement is designed to ensure safety and security from this hazardous waste.
1. Clinical Waste Bags (yellow and black bags)

All wearable PPE equipment including face masks, surgical gloves and tissues should be disposed of into Yellow and Black Clinical Waste bags. Since they are classed as ‘offensive’ waste’ they must be disposed of in these bags, which are also known as Tiger Sacks due to their distinguishable patterns.

2. Transparent bags

Clear bags are recommended to store lateral flow tests such as swabs and slides. These bags must be tightly secured once filled.

3. 45L units

Once the clear and/or yellow, black bags are full these should be placed into a 45l unit before we collect. Depending on the amount of waste you produce, we can provide as many 45l units as you require to ensure the safe disposal of your COVID test waste.

4. Sharps Bins

As the name suggests, these bins are for items that are ‘sharp’, therefore this includes needles used for vaccinations etc.

When do we collect the waste?

Although we offer flexible services that fit around your schedules, you can count on us to be there as frequently as you need. While we can provide one-off collections, we can also provide weekly, fortnightly, or monthly collections.

When it comes to who we work with, our team can facilitate the waste collection requirements of every industry. Wherever you are in the UK we can help organisations and companies.

We work with COVID-19 testing centres, schools, care homes, GP surgeries and more.

What are rapid lateral tests and why are they important?

Rapid tests (a.k.a lateral flow tests) are a common test carried out by businesses and organisations to detect if an individual shows a positive or negative COVID result.

These tests are important as they provide populated places with a way to distinguish if an individual is fit to go to work or enter a building.

These tests work by an individual inserting a swab into their nose and mouth. The swab is then mixed in a buffer liquid solution which releases the virus fragments. This solution is then dropped onto a strip that contains antibodies. If this binds to the viral fragments we can identify if the users have COVID or not.
